I have had a constant headache on the left side of my head for 2 months. It is scary as it is not normal to have a headache for so long and it has been getting me down.
After 2 months of taking painkillers I have now been fast tracked for an MRI.
The experience was quite scary. First I had to get undressed and put on a gown. I then sat in the waiting area for quite a while. All I could hear was machinery behind closed doors wizzing away.
Afterwards I was called into a room where they re-checked whether I had any metal on me. Basically the MRI is a giant magnet.
I had to put some ear plugs in and lie down on a bed. They then 'secured' me and I was told not to move! I was given a hand alarm and told if I had any issues to sqeeze it. I then was slid into a machine. If youre claustrophopic you will not like this.
The machine started up and it was really loud. Loads of clicks and buzzing. I was in the machine for at least 20-25 minutes and I think I fell asleep because the next thing I knew, I was being slid back out of the machine.
Anyway, I have to wait a week for my results.
